By accessing or using Plainsight ("the Service"), operated at plainsight.cc, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Plainsight is a public website about creative and production software — audio, video, 3D, photo, and design tools. We read publicly posted discussion in online communities, use AI to work out which products are being named and how the people writing about them feel, and publish the aggregated result: mention counts, sentiment, and the excerpts that back them up.
We report opinion, we do not test products. We do not buy, benchmark, review, or independently verify any tool on this site. Everything we publish is a summary of what other people said in public. A high ranking on Plainsight means a lot of people spoke well of something, not that it is right for you.
There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to sign in to. Plainsight has no user accounts, no logins, and no credentials. The site is free to read. We do not sell subscriptions, we do not gate content behind payment, and we do not take payments of any kind.
You may optionally give us your email address to receive our newsletter. Subscribing is double opt-in: we send a confirmation email, and you receive nothing further unless you click the link in it. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. Details of what we store are in our Privacy Policy.
Plainsight may contain affiliate links. If you follow one and buy something, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. We may also display advertising in future. Neither affects our analysis: which products appear, and how they rank, is determined by the community evidence we collect and nothing else. We do not accept payment for placement or for a better score.
The analysis on this site — the counts, sentiment figures, comparisons, and rankings — is our own work and belongs to Plainsight. It is built from publicly available posts and comments that remain the property of their authors and the platforms they were published on.
Where we quote someone, we publish a short verbatim excerpt only, and we link back to the thread it came from so you can read it in context. If you wrote something we quote and would like it removed, email us and we will remove it.
Automated analysis gets things wrong. Products get misidentified, sarcasm gets read as praise, and counts drift. If you spot something inaccurate — particularly if it concerns a product you make — email us and we will look at it and correct it if we agree.

Our figures reflect what a self-selecting slice of online communities happened to say, which is not a representative sample and is not a substitute for trying a tool yourself. Nothing on Plainsight is professional advice, and no product named here is endorsed by us.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Plainsight shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including any purchase you make on the basis of what you read here.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Service or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
